Posted January 15, 200520 yr If you can succesfully help me out, I'll give you a spare key I got from walmart see here: http://forums.myg0t.com/showthread.php?t=10125 So basically, I've got the hl2 content on my computer, but now I need to find out how to play it on one of my accounts... I've got they keys and all.. the only problem is accessing it. How do you tie a key to an account? When you go to "register a product I already own" it tells you to type the key in, and then when it verifies the key, it tells you to insert the hl2 cd (which i don't have) what do I do? January 15, 200520 yr the problem you have is you have keys for the retail version and are trying to play the steam version. i have the retail and need the cd all the time, even with a no cd crack (which the majority are key stealers anyhow). otherwords you need a steam key, or a clone of the orig HL2 cd (as a no cd wont work i think) this was implimented to stop people going to stores and writing a key down and downloading the game over steam.

Ahh, Finally, some good info. Thanks Evil. You stated you need the cd to play hl2.. what about CSS?/hl2dm? Need a cd in for those too?
