the amd looks nice and could probably overclock to 2.6-2.8 ghz for 4000+ or 4200+ performance.

it looks like you don't have a RAID set up with those 2 drives, are you planning to do that yourself or leave them unraided?

I have both P4 3.2 w/HT & a recently purchased athlon 64 3400+ w/HT system , both are running ATI 9800XT video cards & 1 gig Ram on each and I have to say the Athlon blows away the P4.

Just gonna take my P4 and add XP Media to it and use it as a media system with my satellite TV and use the Athlon for all my gaming . hope that helps .

are you finally getting a new box? rifk

my motto: when in doubt choose intel. amd is teh sux

my motto don't take a german's advice

my pc is a AMD +2200 ...1.67 gig cpu with 1.5 gigs RAM with ATI 128 meg card

my laptop is an HP pavilion zv5550us or something like that..it's an Intel 3.2 gig with 512 meg RAM and 128 meg ATI card. Has that brightview screen thingy.

my PC is still much faster than the new Intel laptop so i say go with AMD all day long.....although having shitloads of RAM on the PC did boost the performance in games and other media stuff.

I would say dont get it with Geforce 6800 Ultra... get one with an ATI, i think X850 is out and it completely owns nvidia...

For the processor, intel been known for having heat problems with their proccessor while AMD seems to be doing very good.

The ZX Spectrum 128 is the one to buy, as it can play multichannel music through its AY chip.

personally id go with the AMD, but get an SLI motherboard, then get two 6800GT's, the x850 doesnt have a chance against the two 6800GT's

(first post :D)

If your shit isn't listed here then there's no point in getting SLI since it wont help it, so unless you plan on running nothing but Doom3 or HL2 24/7 then get the x850

 :slap:
