So anyone planning on buying and playing Final Fantasy XI online?

 

I know most people here are not mmorpg fans or the type who pay montly fees for games. I do know there are a lot of Final Fantasy fans here though, so I'd assume some people are gonna try this game out due to that reason alone. I personally can't wait to play it. With Half-life 2 not coming out this year, its about the only good game for PC coming out.

 

For anyone interested EB Games has free shipping (1day air) if you pre-order it. Ships October 28th.

Pretty much. Though they are in a future patch slated for next year adding more PvPer support.

 

Mood point to me, I love PvPer, but this is Final Fantasy, which I don't play for the PvPer experence. I play it for the RPG/Story. Only difference is its online so you get to play with others.

 

First month free after that its like 12.95 a month.

Worlds of Warcraft looks great, but with all Blizzard games it'll take years to come out. They are currently saying 2nd quater 2004 but I will not be surprised to see it get pushed back to 2005. I have yet to see a Blizzard game ever come out on time. Starcraft alone was delayed like 2 years. Though when the game does come out it's always a high quailty product. Hopefully this holds true with WoW. Only thing got me worried is that half the oringal Blizzard team has left (including Bill Roper) and Blizzard may be sold off to another company. Blizzard could turn into a shitty game maker due to this.

Ok I personally played the Beta for FFXI when my friend told me to apply for it. For everyone who's wondernig if it is worth it or not, it IS.....if you have the amount of time. Ok, basically from level 1 - 15 you train solo, and after that you HAVE to train in parties to make any decent form of EXP. Half of the newbies will begin to piss you off..namely WARRIORS who don't provoke and let the White Mages die and then everyone else in your party dies.

 

Now to get onto the point, my total play time was (this was for 2 weeks then I got a new girl friend and there was no time for playing). Game Play Time : 1 week, 5 days, 19 hours and 9 minutes. My level was level 30 Thief with ideal equipment for that level. Now if you have a job, and school..and other shit (girl friends, party, and your active) your going to have no time to play. I found it difficult to play durning day so most of the playing was done after 1 or 2 AM. Anyways that's my opinion on FFXI. Only get it if you have the time or you waste money.

i have the beta and ive only played it 3 or 4 times for a decent amount of hours. Its a pretty good looking game i dunno if i want to pay for it monthy tho cause i have SWG and Planetside and played both for couple months then i end up stopping cause quite frankly PS and SWG suck MAJOR ASS. Anywho...im still debating on what i should do cause alot fo Xbox and other PC titles come out this month and next month

SWG was fun for the first week when you were like HOLY PENIS I'M A LIZARD WHOOPING ASS WITH A BLASTER. Then you realized it would take you over 3 weeks to get one skill mastered, you'd be doing the same thing for over 3 months, and everybody and their uncle would be a rebel scumbag with a pet. That's about the time I quit. After I rwnt face at the spaceport on Corellia.

I can't enjoy an online rpg without pvp, that's why im looking forward to lineage 2.

 

Lineage 2 will let clans buy castles, and siege other clan's castles. The sieges will be in 3d with people on dragon mounts taking potshots with bows, melee users rushing the front, and archers sniping from battlements.

Edit: I strongly suggest anyone who likes mmorpgs and pvp to check out this title and tell me what they think, I'm not too pro on mmorpgs although I did play EQ for a bit.

 

EQ kinda sucked because the game felt like fun was a priveladge to be earned and you were to be doomed with the level grind untill you could earn that priveladge via level grind. On a blue server (not pvp) the game IS a level grind/virtual chatroom.

ptfffff, play planetside now if you got money, join the dragon empires beta cause its gonna be the best mmorpg and then buy and play matrix online cause face it the new final fantasy onlin ething is gonna be just like anarchy online shadowlands- a piece of crap, all you do is level, you probly have no control over attacking, like you press q and you start shooting the enemy and how fast you shoot is determined by how many points you got in it and crap, missions are gonna suck too

Shut faec Brain. Shadowbane, not shadowlands. You are clearly not up to standards to talk about a game.

 

I going to be tarutaru white mage then tarutaru summoner or bard. Not sure which.
