Yes you heard right, BuddyPic has a chatroom and a voice chat room as well now.

Well for all of you that already have an IRC client the server is irc.victimofchaos.com, Port: 6667. Autojoin #BP. For all of you that have never had an IRC client or were confused setting it up the last time I posted this sticky we now have an IRC Java applet which can be reached here:

http://www.buddypic.com/chat/

Simply enter what Nickname you wish, and your Real name and click 'Chat!' It should then autoconnect and autojoin you to #BP. Remember you need to have Java installed for this to work. If for some reason it doesn't load properly you can:

1.) Go to http://www.java.com, click 'Get it Now', and it will either install Java for you, or tell you it's already installed/updated. Refresh the page, and it should work fine.

2.) Read the Help section that Cody (TbG) put together, it has answers to a lot of questions that would be asked.

3.) BP mail TbG for further assistance.

So for IRC, if you have it, decided to download it, or just use the java applet, there you go.

Now for ventrilo, the voice chat,

We have a Ventrilo

voice chat set up for the users to use.

Just download the one for your computer, currently version 2.2.0 here and then;

Setting up your username

Click on the -> button next to User Name.

Click on New and enter your buddypic name.

Phonetic is what the server will say when you join it, sounds sort of like speak and spell, pretty cool. :P

Don't worry about description or work dir. Click OK.

Server info and setup

Again click on the -> button next to Server.

hit New, enter BP. Hit OK

Hostname or IP: 69.31.1.145

Port number: 3784

leave password blank, it's open ended for public.

Default Channel: Buddypic General

Hit OK.

From there you can connect straight away.

For smoother voice convo's setup a hotkey so when you're not talking the mic won't transmit to everyone.

Click on Setup... in the client.

Check the box Use Push-To-Talk Hotkey

Rollover the Hotkey textbox and press your hotkey.

I use the left arrow key, so whenever I'm holding the left arrow key people in the channel can hear me speak, it's that simple. Make sure you have the hot key on.

Keeping all your events(second tab in Setup...) is also a nice idea if you don't like sound alerts.

Also, keeping your inbound at +10 and your outbound at around 4-6ish is a good idea.

Client also has a text based chat, and comments which appear next to your name in the nameslist. Other than that you guys can play with bindings and anything as you wish.

~ And when you go in there, use the hot keys, and have respect for other people, it's voice and sounds so they can hear you. If you get really annoying about it, you will just be banned, and it's pretty much in irriversible thing, so don't do it.

You can BP mail me with any further questions.

REMEMBER, don't just come in, see not many are around, and then go, just stay in there, and more people will come.

Have fun, and hope to see you in them.
