Posted February 19, 200520 yr I have been around this forum for a while but never seen a need to post. Anyways I'm trying to set up a proxy and I dont know much about it i used google and did some stuff... A website i found told me to go to internet options > connections tab > Lan settings and put the adress and port there and i did after finding a proxy list. So after i did that i restarted IE and googled for a few sites that tell me my ip... 50% of the sites told me the ip of the proxy... but the other 50% told me my real ip... why is that? I figured i would ask here because im sure almost all you mother fuckers get banned and need to change your ip at some time. So if anyone can help me or tell me how to really set up a proxy please reply. ps. i will not click on links from you fuckers kthx
February 20, 200520 yr wow... I have to admit... This guy ain't bad... He's attempted to do stuff on his own He's asking humblly (pardon spelling...) He's not using leet speek He's not using pwned.nl lines all he wants is an explination I wish I could help... But I know nothing about proxies... my suggestion would be take one proxie and go though another and another and another... But then again, I don't know...
March 19, 200520 yr Without a proxy prog it doesn't work well. Theres a glitch in java that basically just ignores the proxy server and grabs your IP.
March 19, 200520 yr the proxy u used was prob transparant, try an anonymous or a high anonymity one heres a good proxy site http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list
March 19, 200520 yr Anonymous - HTTP Proxy server does not send HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR variable to host, this improves privacy since your IP address cannot be logged. High anonymity (elite proxy) - HTTP Servers of this type do not send HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR, HTTP_VIA and HTTP_PROXY_CONNECTION variables. Host doesn't even know you are using proxy server an of course it doesn't know your IP address. So basically, some proxies forward your real IP address. Up to the site in question to check for a forwarded IP I assume.
