As much as lies are necessary, I hate religion. Thoughts on religion is a black hole of wasted time, that could be used towards medicine or science, something that is true, not opinion. Fucking half beleivers, trying to ram your lord down my throat, I dont see you abstaining from sex, or following your 10 commandments you fucking whore of babylon. Religion isnt necessary anymore, why doesn't the human race wise up to the obvious logic and evidence in front of them?

March 2, 200520 yr hmm .. religion touchy subject to many and yet it begs me to comment...... religion is for those who dont know. who daydream and wont think for themselves they surround themselves with rules and regulations to make them feel in control of their destiny. have you ever noticed that they get all out of control when you question thier beliefs i sometimes wonder if thats the case because they themselves dont want to think of the possibilities that we are correct about god heav. hell. think about it if someone says you suk yeah you get angry about it but do you care no not unless its true or you in some way feel its true. theres so much more ild like to rant about but i dont think its neccessary :fawkd: this is what i think about religion and those who narrowmindedly try to force it upon me
March 2, 200520 yr i dont know about religion im still young and undecided although i find it very ahrd to believe in God and all, i think the Bible and all religions are a bunch of stories to give meaning to some wise persons moral values. All religions are based on being good, and some people interpret them differently, and so why not make it a wholesome story for the whole family? Unfortunately this means some people tf it on religion, and this is where it is bad. it would be good if there was jsut a book of morals to follow, but no reason like heaven to get you there, just a guide to how one should live (guide important word here) and my friend is religious and he preaches to me and acts so self righteous and is rather annoying although i like chrisitanitys morals (he is christian) because they make sense in todays world, just the whole "story" part is.....iffy.....
March 2, 200520 yr Religion is a means of controlling the masses. Think about it this way. Organized religion, more specifically christianity sprung up about 2000 years ago. Back then, crime was rampant, disease was wild, and there were essentially no rules. People did what ever the fuck they wanted. Government could only control this so much, so they needed a way to control the masses. If the people wouldn't fear the government, they would fear a "God", something that was all-powerful, and something that awaited them after death. Overall, religion is a means of controlling the masses through their fear of death. Created by government.

Where'd you get this bit of bullshit? Abstinence isn't encouraged in the Bible OR the Torah. The 10 commandments (handed down to Moses, the savior of the Jews, if you buy into the Judeo-Christian belief system) STARTS with the first commandment...which is: "Be fruitful and multiply" The Judeo-Christian framework only believes in abstinence for the unmarried, and monogamous faith to your spouse when you ARE married...the reason Catholic nuns and monks and so on practice abstinence is they see it as marrying the CHURCH when they take their vows...nuns are regarded by the church as being brides of Christ, etcetera etcetera. All others are supposed to procreate within marriage, as a duty to God. This is why the Catholic church (and a few other fundy churches) dislike contraceptives. Aside from that: well, THOUGHT is never fruitless, even thought on religion. I would agree that taking someone else's word as to what the "truth" of religion is is stupid...following someone who claims to have had God speak to them strikes me as chancy, at best, as the first thing *I* would want to know from someone who claimed to have spoken to God and have recieved an answer would be "Have you been taking your meds properly?" Athieism is as much a religion as any bible-thumping zealot follows, as it takes as much concentration to believe the "it just happened by coincidence" idea as it does to believe there's a creator who's so insecure as to want our fawning adoration and obedience. WHAT started shit off...well, that's up to YOU to decide what you believe...but don't try to shove YOUR unsupported and unprovable beliefs in MY face unless you're more than willing to have somethign alot more uncomfortable shoved into your face in return.
