We all know the circle of life for game hacks. hack is patched -> hack is updated, rinse repeat. VAC2 is inevitable, but it still won't update as fast as the hacks do, not to mention we still have a 1.6 to kill. :fruit:

March 5, 200520 yr This whole Hacker vs VAC business is just like the Download vs Companies war. Wtf is VAC going to do about private hacks? They can only ban hacks which get into their hands (by being spread on sites/FTP etc.) right? So I mean as long as we keep our hacks to ourselves we should be fine. On the other hand, the mighty VAC people might try and ban hacks by implementing the most commonly used lines of code, but then again there are an unlimited amount of possibilites to gain the same line of code, but just bypassing it with another method? Kinda of like solving algebraic equations; if one method doesnt work, theres loads more. In conclusion (incase you didnt bother reading the top): Home made hacks will rule the games anyway, so Valve and gabe can go screw themselves by making VAC2 since it will only result in a loss of economy. That's what I think at least.

I think Valve is stupid for putting so much time into making a new version of VAC, because VAC won't stop private hacks (as many here have said). Maybe instead of worrying about hackers they should start becoming concerned about making Steam not suck......
