October 28, 200321 yr acad or not, it is pretty simplistic and pointless...tutorials all over the net on how to do it...hell, any 3D graphics editor will do the same thing in the hands of your average 8 year old.... If ACAD wasn't so clunky, it'd be a wonderful program for diagramming and 3D design...as is, it's just a pain in the ass that has kept it's niche so long through blatant propriatary support with large companies and educational systems..
October 28, 200321 yr Author i use it for architecture... umm and its not clunky if u know what the hell ur doing. first time a got into 3dstudiomax i had no clue what to do. now i think discreet owns autocad so they made 3dvis the same as 3dsmax and its fucked up. ummm yea if u use autocad for 3d houses and 3d things for engineering it is by far, the best program to use. if ur just goona clup piles of shit together to make it look cool, go ahead and use 3dsmax. once i start making the house im making now 3d ill post some pics if i get it on this comp.

Autodesk came out with Inventor i believe its a draft then model/render kind of thing...its more for engineering wheras acad is used for architecture etc
October 28, 200321 yr Author i use inventor to make fly throughs on the 3d houses. now that we have VIZ we are goona try that. fly throughs are things that let u see all the shit inside the house... ya
October 28, 200321 yr I won't deny ACAD is great for drafting, schematics, exploded diagramming, and other "industrial" uses...I'm just saying it's clunky as hell...you HAVE to get training or read tutorials on it in order to do the simplest things. At least with 3DSMax, you can tinker with it for a couple weeks and figure the basics out. Granted, no "real" and adaptable 3D graphics editor is exactly easy to use (with the exception of non-adaptable limited programs like Poser, WorldBuilder, CharachterStudio, and Bryce), but for saleability to the public, at least 3DSMax is somewhat friendly in layout. But still...my original point was 3D block text, or even spinning 3D block text is so simple my 8 year old can do it in 3DSM, Poser, Bryce, or WorldBuilder.....and the kid's no type of prodigy. I kinda expect "look what I can do" stuff on here to be at least sophisticated in technique, you know? Since the original I posted in regard to was NOT, I commented, not as a dis, so much as a "yeah? so? you can do better, that's clunky and simplistic...get to work, dude!"
