There is no such thing as 'cyber rape.' This looks like a scare tactic from a school website to prohibit sexual conduct through the Internet with unsuspecting strangers. A lot of naive teenagers and even children will go into chat rooms and talk with people who are sociopaths or pedophiles. The whole 'cyber rape' issue is just there to scare the living crap out of curious teenagers or sick, sexual adults preying on children.

First of all, the website you posted is speculative and biased. There are no facts, no references, not even a fucking precedent. Secondly, your use of Google and understanding the law is a FAILURE.

After realizing that fitting a computer crime into a standard sexual assault law was difficult, Senator Paul Sarlo sponsored the law to close this loophole in the law. New Jersey, like 34 other states, has a law that criminalizes luring children via computers with the purpose of committing crime, but not one for adults. The new law affects not only to those who use the Internet to lure people to commit sexual crimes, but other assault crimes as well.
