October 26, 200321 yr I live in metro L.A. kind of far from the fire but the smoke seems to have reached all the way over here. The sun is kind of orange and it smells like firewood.
October 26, 200321 yr LOL...you'd think Los Angelites would have gotten used to this cycle by now... Wildfires burn the trees and ground cover off...firemen and guardsmen pour water on fire...rains join in....without ground cover to hold soil in place, massive mudslides wipe out houses below fireline...mudslides block streambeds and creekbeds, more rains come, anything that survived local fire and mudslides gets flooded...redistribution of soil weights encourages earthquakes...... see it in the news every year, explained in "just that way", with the addendum that the same cycle has happened, with minor variations every year for the last 50 years..... AND STILL, every summer/fall, when the cycle begins again, it's national news, and the locals have the balls to act fucking suprised that they are being evacuated because of wildfires, and come home just in time for mudslides, etc, etc!!! With a little luck, this'll be the year that finishes up properly, and dumps everything west of San Andreas under the tideline....with the loss of Los Angeles Metro, national average IQ should climb at least 15 points.
