Posted March 22, 200520 yr Sometimes don't you feel as if you are all alone, as if everyone around you just becomes a disappointment, as if you are sentimental enough to ask somone for emotional support. As you grow everything becomes more clear, as you grow it is easier to notice many changes in society that affects you directly or indirectly speacially coming from your friends. Friends such strong word that represent botherhood with people you meet and interact with sort of like brothers that god never sent you. For me friends is one of the most important thing, i believe in them, i trust them and i rely on them....but sometimes it is hard to know wheather you made the right choice in picking them.In my case i though i picked right, but i got dissappointed as we grew together, i started to notice how much of an ass they were some of them stay the same while others change drastically. Now 6 years later i realize and i think is it worth it?....probably the only one i can trust is my family that will always be there for me. How can i ever believe in them again?, is it worth to have friends when they just cause you anger and sadness? P.S and for all of those asswipes laughting why don' t you go laugh at your mother fuking loser.
March 22, 200520 yr this is pointless, no one cares about your personal problems, you can always find new friends.

March 22, 200520 yr alucard, before you try to develop profound philosophical ideas, do yourself (and the rest of us) a huge favor, and familiarize yourself with basic grammar and spelling! "everyone" is a plural...everyone does not "just becomes"..ONE becomes if you feel "as if you are sentimental enough to ask somone for emotional support." , this means you feel that you can do this...the way you used the phrase indicates that you feel you NEED to ask for the support and can't, but you SAID the exact opposite. "notice many changes in society that affects you directly " CHANGES is the subject of this sentence fragment, and is a plural...changes affect you, society (a singular) affects you. For me friends is one of the most important thing Once again, friends is plural (note the "S" on the end of the word? that's a hint! It means "more than one of these is indicated")...plurals ARE, singular IS..."friends ARE" is what you wanted. These are just a few of the more glaring bits of idiocy I noted...my third grade son wanted to know if a first grader wrote that post...pretty telling.

March 23, 200520 yr ROFL Alucard, if you didn't write it, why are you so upset at having your (miserable) grammar corrected? And no, it didn't take "hours"...took me about two seconds to figure out what you were TRYING to say, and maybe one more to decide that something THAT bad just HAD to be ragged on. If I spent any TIME corecting grmmar, that's all I'd be doing on THESE boards...you gotta be pretty damned bad...damned near incomprehensible, before I'll say anything. As for letting my kids read these boards....not always. I don't object to them looking over my shoulder, though. Why should I? The oldest (9) builds computers from my "junk pile" (ok, he needs me to wire the case switches and USB plugs to the mobo, but he does all the PnP assembly, and installs Windows OS's all on his own), and the youngest, my 7 year old, is already "fixing problems" on the school computers, when it gets too messed up for his teacher to get it to work. My intention is to have them both coding competently in C++ by the time they're 13, if they keep showing interest in learning "the next thing" about how computers work.

March 24, 200520 yr Not yet...but the two who have any interest in computers WILL be, if I have anything to say about it, Xavion :) My daughter could care less about computers...she's happy as long as she can get her Barbie Makeover game, and a couple art programs to load properly...as a result, she doesn't know shit about computers, and hollars for her brothers (or me) anytime anything fucks up. My boys, on the other hand, seem to want to learn everything they can about computers...one of the best ways to learn computers, hands-on, is by starting out with basic building and maitenance, moving to some "demojnstrative" scriptkiddy tricks, and from there to programming and networking in an organized teaching environment. That's what they're getting from me, as long as they keep expressing an interest. If they lose interest before they learn programming, then so be it. If they don't, they'll be programming by 13, and probably know computers better than I do by the time they're through high school. If they apply this by cracking systems and writing cheat programs, that's their business.

March 24, 200520 yr lol megafigterx...my kids seem happy with me. I tend to be a bit of a hardass on some things, though...like I chew their asses pretty hard when they screw up something they've demonstrated understanding. And I've got little to no sympathy when they get hurt doing anything they knew was against the rules. (I still apply first aid, I just do it with a "shut the hell up, if you'd have followed the rules, you wouldn't be hurt to begin with" attitude, rather than a "oh, you poor kid, I know it hurts" attitude). I don't think most kids would like having me as a dad...I'm permissive as hell on some things most parents are Nazis about, but I make most parents look like carebears when it comes to how hard I land on them about the things I think are important. I'll give an example...the already established rule in this house is that "school is your job" for the kids...as long as their grades are good, they set their own bedtime, and curfew (curfew doesn't matteryet, since they need me, their mom, or a friends' parents to drive them anywhere they want to go). I expect to know where they expect to be, and when they plan to be back...but that's for MY comfort, and they know it. This means that even at their ages, if they decide they'd rather stay home today, that's fine...I'll write the note tomorrow. But if their grades drop, I start becomeing an invasive prick. Last year, my eldest decided to stay home often enough that his grades dropped to B/C equivalent...when that report card came home, suddenly he didn't get to stay home unless *I* thought he was too sick for school, he did homework for an hour right after getting home (whether he had an hour's worth of homework or not...I'd make shit up for him to do if I had to), he gave up his allowance for the duration, he didn't get to do baseball or soccer in the spring (it was the Winter quarter he screwed up in), and wasn't allowed to attend any birthday parties or other get-togethers thrown by his friends. His end of year report card was straight A-equivalents, and he hasn't screwed up since (though he still stays home on occasion, as do the other two). When they get older, that's still going to be the "base" rule...but there are some other things that have to be covered. The plan is this: Drinking is done in the house...I won't provide booze for your friends unless their parents OK it to ME. Sex...in the house, please, and use a damned condom. They're in the bathroom drawer. Drugs...not on my property, as the cops can sieze the whole damned house, and everything in it, if they really want to be pricks. You get busted, you're screwed, because I won't help. I *MIGHT* lend you the money for a lawyer, and to pay your fine, if you're REALLY doing well in school, and staying out of trouble generally. If I ask if you're doing, you be honest (I MIGHT spring a test on you)...so long as you're honest, and you're willing to PROVE you can "put it down, anytime" for a specified period (not to exceed 6 weeks), I'm not gonna ride your ass about it. But a fuckup will result in me becoming an instant "house Nazi", and enforcing it. NO life outside scool, and me being a total prick to make sure that that's the case. No allowance, no extracirricular activities, no games, no phone, no NOTHING, until you prove that you're taking care of priorities first.
