And if you blew out a water jacket they can be replaced rather then the whole engine...So can a piston, either your wasting money, or thinking ahead. Doesn't matter though, that car is a piece of shit, but i'm glad someone around here has respect for cars, good luck in the restoration process.

I wasnt thinking water jacket I was thinking frost plug. I'm alittle off today my bad. on the other hand, your right why replace one piston when you can have the whole thing re-built/buy a new engine.
May 31, 200519 yr Drop in a rebuilt/crate Chevy small block 305 (if ya got the $$) . if you're very lucky you might find one pulled in half way decent condition for a lot less . Small block 350 is better but more $$ about 15 yrs ago I helped a bud throw a 350 with a NV4500 trans into his 67 Toyota FJ45 (similar to the 40 but looks more like a Pickup ) He ended up selling the thing for $16,000+ a few years later when it was 100%
