Posted June 15, 200519 yr Well Im getting a new comp soon, Im looking forward to playin/raging BF2 and I got my gfx card, Best gfx card I can afford right now is the Nvidia geforce 6600 256. I was on fileshack.com looking at the requirements and it stated - Video Cards Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards: GeForce 6600 (PCIe) (and the other cards but thats mine) where im buying my card form states that it is a [PCI-express 16x] Nvidia Geforce 6600 256mb w dv blah blah Now is that the exact card that will go with BF2 becuase im on the Nvidia website and in the performance specs for my card on the one line is states Graphics Bus PCI Express (space) AGP 8X Now is there a choice between the two or are both standard on the card, becuase where im getting my card from dosent give a choice between AGP or PCE express Any help, thnx (sorry im not the best when it comes to hardware)
June 15, 200519 yr You should buy a card that has the following words in its description: 256 MB, HDTV, Platinum, DVI, AGP. Else it will NOT work well at all with battlefield 2.
June 17, 200519 yr Author you should have sprung for the 6600 GT, it's almost twice as good. Yes, I was talknig to some people and only reason I was thinking about getting the 6600 256 is becuase it had more memory (and i dont know anythnig about hardware) but im going for the 6600 gt. Thnx
June 18, 200519 yr Your motherboard most likely doesnt have pci express. I suggest getting a 6600 GT (or 6600 regular) with AGP. This card will play bf2 without problems.
June 18, 200519 yr (sorry im not the best when it comes to hardware) To give you a good advice: Do it like me ; Bring your pc to the pc shop , tell them "Make it faster" and flash 400 dollars or so.
