Posted July 5, 200519 yr Alright, i can play BF1942 on medium settings and get smooth performance. And so i decided to get BFV and try it out, i set all the settings the same as in 42, and i create a server. I spawn, shoot off some of the guns, and walk around for about 30 seconds and then it just locks everything up, i cant alt+tab, ctrl+alt+delete, alt+f4, turn it to standby, nothing. I've got Athlon 3300+ 512MB RAM a 128MB SiS Mirage2 or something like that And i can run BF42 fine with that, so i have no clue why the fuck bfv is doing this, anyone know? Edit: this does this every time, i've even put all my gfx settings on low and it still does it. Google gave me about as much helpful info as a 2 year old.
July 5, 200519 yr You are running an integrated shit video chip (not video card, video CHIP) Bassicly what you have rendering your video is not build for games, it is built becuase you need something to make your screen appear on a monitor. You NEED a real video card if you want to play anything made after 1999.
July 5, 200519 yr Author Alright thanks for your help, thats why i can play Half-Life 2, BF1942, GTASA, F.E.A.R., Postal2STP, NFSU and many more. I'm planning on getting an X800 later on anyway.
July 5, 200519 yr How the fuck do you play Halflife 2 on that piece of shit? What settings are you running HL2 at?
July 5, 200519 yr Author 30 at most, it may suck ass but i think its pretty good considering my card.
July 5, 200519 yr Well if it keeps freezing like that it probably overheating or trying to do some OpenGL or Direct3D function it can't handel. I don't know what BF2 uses...
July 5, 200519 yr Author Damn, i have read that BFV has a couple of graphic improvements and such so that it differs from 1942. I guess i'll go out and get the full 1942 then.
July 5, 200519 yr I prefer BF:V because the its more...erm.... modern. I really have no clue how Athlon processors work , so is an athlon 3300+ equal to a p4 or less? Most error can be fixed by eitehr reinstalling , or updating graphic card drivers and DirectX
July 5, 200519 yr Author I just got new drivers, i have DX9.0c I'm gonna try to reinstall. And its a 2.4ghz so i'd say its probably the same/better than a P4... not too sure.
