July 12, 200519 yr OldManPeterson']Leave poor CH alone. Everyone knows when a server fails, it hacks your site, changes the images, the forums and downloads the databases with all the registered users passwords to other web sites. It happens all the time. /end From what I saw and read the other day, a lot of users lost hotmail accounts, steam accounts and other web based accounts, due to CH being hacked. Sure it's partly the users fault for using same password everwhere (only a idiot does that), but when you register on a site, you put your trust in that the site will protect your user information and at the very least your PASSWORD. I know shit happens that is out of a persons control, but why the hell would u store passwords not encrypted? Atleast if it was encrypted and got stolen, it would take a lot of time and work to unencrypt the passwords. That was just insane to me. I cannot understand why they did that. Why would any site do that. No forum software in this day and age does that anymore. Old school ones from like 8 years or more did that but they were are not running old forum software from what I see on the site. Have they even notified all the registered users of the compromise or aplogized to them? If they have not, that is very irresponsible of them. Atleast make your userbase aware of the compromise so they can try to secure their stuff. Also maybe explaining why the hell they stored the passwords in that fashion to begin with would be a good idea. I guess they think ignorance is the best solution to this situtation.... :O_o: I got 7 emails and 1 Steam account from this, haha. It was worth it. People had passwords like "asdfghjk" and 123456. They are fucking stupid.
