Wal-mart retards would think stealing the box not the CD key is stealing, but they dont know you need the key to activate the product 3. Once you are out of the store they are most likely not going to hunt you down and arrest you.

Open the jewel case and in the top right hand corner there will be a little sticker saying "half life 2 key" and the key no. underneath it, it's only a sticker so you can just peel it off whilst pretending to read the back.
